Complete Earl's Chicken Worries quest first to get copper key and access to the old map.

Optional: If you take shortcut after giving prisoner the key you will face 
Demonic Ent, but it is faster.
Once you have the copper key go across the street and up the stairs, open the door and open the chest to receive an old map
Say "hi" "map" to get to the next step of the quest
Ronald: You found the old map from the abandoned clan house? Well, we never really figured out what it was, except it had something to do with the outlaws near Lyedel.
Exploring the outlaw areas near Lyedel, you will find a prison area in the Valkyrian area. The map points out a certain prison, where an outlaw was held hostage.
From the tavern where you met Ronald, follow this path to Outlaw:
When the player gets to the outlaw he must say "hi" "key"
Outlaw: You want to help me? Find the key to these prison gates! It should be held here somewhere!
Go up the stairs till you find a chest with the key. then go back to the Outlaw and say "key"
Outlaw: Thank you for the help! I will try to escape when it's safer!
Outlaw: I can't give you anything now, but you might find something interesting to steal from the outlawish areas near the Geltharian Plains. Maybe even beyond the Cursed Graveyard.
- You will need one Pile of magical explosion powder to get past a red explosive rock. Just drag the powder onto the rock and it will destroy it.
- If you are taking the shorter Demonic Ent route, travel to Yafmel and you won't need the magical explosion powder.
Just go up the stairs till you find a door, open the door then open the chest.
Shortcut: Yafmel through Demonic Ents
I followed the instructions of the outlaw, and found a really strong looking pair of gauntlets.
